About Arti

Arti Kumar has been a longtime seeker and student of yoga and meditation for over twenty years. Her spiritual awakening in meditation with her mother at the age of thirty shifted her focus from a fun corporate career as a software engineer to a complete change in her inner and outer life as she sought out many spiritual teachers and Masters. She eventually found her teachers Aadil Palkhivala and Savitri, during a time of personal tragedy. They have nurtured and challenged her by turn,  and after graduating as a 2000 hour Certified Purna Yoga Instructor from the College of Purna Yoga, Arti continues her studies with them to deepen, refine and hone her knowledge and skills in the fine art and science of Purna Yoga and Heartfull Meditation.

She has also pursued her studies in natural healing including ayurvedic medicine, global herbalism, applied kinesiology, the MELT Method and aromatherapy over the past two decades. She is connected with many healers in America and India, who have helped her in her journey to wholeness in their own special ways. As a result, Arti has developed a keen sense for the efficacy of alternative therapies and is able to guide her students in their own journey to healing.

With degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science, Arti has enjoyed a fun career in the software industry for fifteen years before she turned to her inner world and the deep underlying mysteries of life, love and healing. She loves to travel with her mother and son during his vacations to visit spiritual teachers and holy sites within and outside India. She has had deep experiences at many of these places, all of which underscore the underlying oneness of all existence.

Arti loves to read fine literature especially by and about spiritual masters, healers, artists and writers. She loves to play with her son who is a joyous fourteen year old who loves tennis and enjoys creating art. She delights in finding new ways to heal her body, mind and spirit and to help others in their healing journey.

As a result of her long and sometimes arduous journey, Arti has developed a deep connection with her soul and is guided to offer her gifts to her students. She has taught Purna Yoga to individuals and groups for the last ten years at various venues in the Seattle area like yoga studios, spas, YMCA, schools, senior associations etc. She is guided to offer classes from her home studio at this time. Her beautiful, fully equipped studio is a dream come true and holds a healing vibration from the moment you step inside. She is also offering online classes and privates for students’ convenience in this unprecedented time when we need to stay safely at home. She is deeply committed to her students’ growth and healing and is able to help with her expertise in asana, breathwork, meditation, nutrition and lifestyle counseling and applied philosophy and with her gift for intuitive guidance.
